When I was pregnant, someone recommended that I look into the Mom's on Call books and podcast. I cannot even describe how thankful I am that I took this advice seriously! The book series is my go-to guide for any and all questions that have come up so far on my parenting journey.
The Moms on Call series answered countless questions that I have had since before Lewis was even born. These books have helped me to feel prepared and empowered during every phase of parenthood so far. Here is what I used each book for the most.Â
I purchased this book during the third trimester of my pregnancy to try to help myself feel more prepared for the coming months. Even though my labor, emergency c-section, and the NICU stay that followed were not part of my plan; reading this book helped be feel like I had a solid grasp on the basics of parenting my newborn right away. I referenced this book for sleep schedule recommendations, deciphering symptoms that my baby was having, treating clogged tear ducts, and transitioning from breastfeeding to the introduction of solid foods. And that's only the tip of the iceberg. Seriously, you NEED this book. It offers such reasonable advice that helped to calm my many anxieties about being a new parent.
By the time your kiddo hits 6 months old, you feel like you are starting to have this whole parenting routine down; bedtime is pretty easy, diaper changes are old news, your baby is pretty content with sitting in one spot with some toys to keep him entertained. Then, crawling enters the chat and soon after comes walking. WOW! A whole new world of needing to ensure everything is baby-proofed. Also, eating habits change which means feeding schedule changes. Finally, more rules need to be set in order to keep your little one safe. This book is the ultimate guide to helping you through these major changes that come up so quickly between six and fifteen months of age.
It's insane that the toddler phase starts at only 15 months and goes through 4 years old! By the time your kiddo is out of the toddler phase, they are going to school. This book helps work through changes to schedules, sleeping, potty training, boundary setting, and more.
